Annville, PA. – All-MAC First Team selections
Julius Stiemer,
Tyler Hoke, and
Ryan Schmid led a five-man all-conference unit for the Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team, as unveiled by the conference office on Monday.
Hoke earns a third straight all-conference honor after Second Team selection for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, while outside hitter Stiemer and opposite hitter Schmid both earned their first All-MAC honors.

Dominic Ambrose was tabbed Honorable Mention (his first all-conference honor), rounding out the Stevens' all-conference quintet
Messiah, whom the Ducks knocked off in four sets in last Saturday's MAC Final, took home conference Player of the Year (Alex Kagoro), Rookie of the Year (Aidan Dunwoody), and Coach of the Year (Justin Beachy), with Misericordia's Benjamin Clendening rounding out the individual conference honors with Rookie of the Year recognition.
Stiemer made his presence felt all season long, averaging nearly 12 kills over his first six matches of the season and more than 13 kills over his final seven appearances of the year, In conference play, the grad student hit an astounding .535 (2
nd in the league), averaging more than 3.2 kills per set (4
th in the league), more than 0.5 service aces per set (T-1
st in the league), and 4.04 points per set (3
rd in the league).
One of two remaining members from the 2023 National Championship team (
Phillip Bone), Hoke once again put up strong numbers out of the middle on both sides of the ball. The Mechanicsburg, Pa. native averaged more than 1.3 kills per set, hit at least .0.382, AND recorded at least 0.79 blocks per set for the fourth straight year. Across all matches (conference and non-conference), Hoke was second in the MAC in hitting percentage (0.385) and T-4
th in blocks per set (0.9).
Entering the season with just 107 kills in 60 sets in his first two seasons, Schmid went off this year, entering the NCAA Championships with a team-high 244 kills while hitting an efficient .362. The Easton, Conn. native put away at least 20 kills in three matches, ranking in the league's Top 4 across all matches in hitting percentage, kills per set (3.30), and points per set (3.73).
Li recorded six total blocks in his first appearance of the season and didn't look back from there, recording at least three total blocks in eight matches during the year while adding 71 kills out of the middle. Li averaged one kill and one total block per set in four straight conference wins over Eastern, Misericordia, Widener, and Messiah while hitting 0.381 in those four victories.
Ambrose averaged 2.33 digs per set during the regular season, helping Stevens hold opponents to a collective hitting percentage of just 0.177 (10 percent less than any other MAC team). The Tustin, Calif. native tallied at least 10 digs in seven matches, capping the regular season with a 17-dig, 6-assist performance (both season-highs) in a win over Elizabethtown.
Up Next: Following a fifth straight MAC Championship, the Ducks will host a six-team pod at Canavan Arena for the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship this week. Action begins Thursday with two play-in matches. Massachusetts Institute of Technology will take on St. Joseph's University Long Island, while Endicott College faces Lancaster Bible College.
Stevens will meet the winner of the MIT-St. Joseph's Long Island match on Friday in the First Round. In the other First Round matchup, the winner of Endicott-Lancaster Bible will square off against California Lutheran University.
The two First Round winners will then meet Saturday night, with a trip to the National Semifinals on the line.
