Shawnee, Pa. – Among a field of 70, all five members of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team finished Day One of the Spring Thaw in the Top 20, while the team wrapped the day comfortably in second place.
The Ducks were seven shots back of the leaders, Bridgewater – 28
th in the national rankings --, and seven shots clear of the rest of the field, with Drew – 43
rd in the national rankings --, among the pack 7+ shots back.
From the Course
Sebastian Beaver and
Noah Eide ended the day tied for fourth at even par. Both birdied the par-four 1
st, with Beaver adding three more birdies during his round, including back-to-back at the par-five 6
th and par-four 7
th during a one-under front nine. After playing holes 10-through-14 at two-over, Eide went eagle-birdie at the par-five 15
th and par-three 16
th during a one-under back nine.
Ben Slicker birdied the par-four 5
th and par-five 11
th, shooting one-over, good for a tie for seventh.
Arav Tank birdied the 6
th, 13
th, and 15
th holes during a three-over round of 75, tying for 14
th.
Jack Harris shot a four-over 76, birdieing the 15
th while playing the back nine at even par, finishing the round tied for 19
th.
As a team, the quintet played the 15
th at four-under and both the 6
th & 13
th at two-under.
