Athletic Department Announces Promotions

Hoboken, N.J. – Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Russell Rogers announced a series of promotions within the Stevens Athletics administrative staff this week.

Emily Kaczmarek was promoted from Associate Athletic Director for Administration & Finance to Deputy Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator while continuing as head softball coach. Meredith York was elevated from Assistant Athletic Director for Recruitment and Retention to Associate Athletic Director and NCAA Compliance Officer while remaining head field hockey coach. Alison Koch, the Athletics Business Manager, was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Finance. In addition, Head Wrestling Coach Anthony Bonaventura and Head Women's Volleyball Coach Macon Frey will assume expanded administrative responsibilities as Athletic Administration Coordinator and Leadership and Development Coordinator, respectively.

"Each of these individuals brings a unique combination of talents, expertise, and leadership that will strengthen our department and contribute meaningfully to our continued growth. Throughout their time in their current roles, they have consistently demonstrated outstanding performance, a commitment to excellence, and a proactive approach to professional development. Most importantly, they have continually prioritized the best interests of our student-athletes and the department as a whole. This is an exceptionally deserving group, and I look forward to working closely with each of them as we continue to advance Stevens Athletics together."
 
As Deputy Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator, Kaczmarek will provide strategic leadership in departmental operations, policy, budgeting, financial oversight, and long-term planning while supervising key administrative personnel. She will also serve as the sport administrator for women's volleyball, men's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's fencing, and men's and women's swimming, oversee athletics camps and clinics, manage Teamworks implementation, coordinate EADA reporting and record retention, and represent Stevens in conference governance while supporting student-athlete leadership initiatives.
 
York will oversee the department's NCAA compliance program, ensuring adherence to conference, NCAA, and institutional regulations while educating coaches, staff, and student-athletes on NCAA legislation. She will also lead recruiting and enrollment initiatives in partnership with Undergraduate Admissions, coordinate prospective student-athlete visits, oversee required NCAA reporting, help manage Teamworks, and support departmentwide administrative initiatives.
 
Koch will direct the department's financial operations, including budgeting, purchasing, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and NCAA travel reimbursements while ensuring compliance with institutional policies. She will serve as the primary financial resource for coaches and staff, oversee financial processes through Workday Finance and Nelnet, support fundraising and NCAA host bids, and provide financial analysis for departmental planning and operations.
 
Bonaventura will assist with NCAA compliance by supporting recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, and playing and practice season oversight while helping coordinate rules education, audits, and reporting. He will also serve as the department's primary liaison to University Advancement, supporting fundraising, donor relations, alumni engagement, and external initiatives.
 
Frey will oversee athletics engagement and leadership programming by coordinating departmentwide events, staff training, compliance education, and professional development opportunities for coaches, staff, and student-athletes. She will also partner with Admissions and campus offices to support enrollment efforts and foster an inclusive, student-centered culture throughout Stevens Athletics.
