Men's Volleyball closes out regular season with 3-2 come-from-behind victory over NJIT

NEWARK, N.J. - Junior outside hitter Brian Woodworth (San Jose, Calif./Bellarmine Prep) recorded a team-high 24 kills as the Stevens men's volleyball team closed out its regular season by rallying for a 3-2 (28-30, 30-27, 30-32, 30-26, 15-11) victory over Division II NJIT on Wednesday night at the Fleisher Athletic Center.

Stevens improves to 31-4.  The Ducks will be the top seed when they participate in the four-team ECAC Division III South Men's Volleyball Championship on Saturday, April 17, at Ramapo College in Mahwah, N.J.  Stevens will face fourth-seeded Hunter in one semifinal while Mount St. Vincent will play Ramapo in the other semifinal match.  The championship will follow immediately after.

The Ducks improved to 4-1 in five-game matches this season as they rallied to win the final two games.  Freshman middle hitter Scott Stoner (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) added 16 kills while sophomores Greg Higgins (Kenmore, N.Y./Kenmore West) and Chris Bock (Orlando, Fla./University) recorded 13 kills apiece.  Senior setter Gerard Aro (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) had 68 assists.
