HOBOKEN, N.J. Senior forward Roberto King netted a three-pointer with 20 seconds left to lift Mount Saint Mary College to a 51-50 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Monday evening in a Skyline Conference men's basketball game at the Canavan Arena

A jumper by freshman forward Joseph Ayodele (Temple, Ariz./Marcos de Niza) gave Stevens (7-9, 4-3 Skyline) a 50-48 lead with 37 seconds to play, but King’s basket proved to be the game-winner as Stevens was unable to connect on its last possession.

Mount Saint Mary (9-6, 7-1 Skyline) trailed 47-44 with less than three minutes to play, but scored the next four points to take a 48-47 advantage.   Freshman guard Waleed Farid (Woodside, N.Y./Stuyvesant) converted the first of two free throws to tie the score 48 all with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Following a missed jumper by senior forward Kenny Lane, senior center Sergio Guzman pulled down the rebound to give the Blue Knights control of the ball with 24 seconds remaining on the clock.  Guzman kicked the ball out to King who sunk a three-pointer to give Mount Saint Mary the lead.

Trailing 25-24 at the break, Mount Saint Mary quickly regained the lead and maintained the advantage for most of the second half.

Guzman and junior guard Brandon Weldon led Mount Saint Mary with 14 points and added four rebounds.

Farid led the Ducks with a game-high 17 points.  Sophomore forward Tim Williams (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) turned in a strong effort for the Ducks with 13 points and six rebounds.
