HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 27, 2007) – Sophomore forward Brittany Fuller dropped 13 of her team-high 15 points in the first half on Tuesday night at the Canavan Arena in Hoboken, N.J. as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team downed Vassar College by a final score of 64-32. Senior forward Dora Enright also notched her second double-double of the season with a 14-point, 14-rebound performance.
After being stuck in an 8-8 deadlock with 10:53 remaining in the opening stanza, Stevens (3-1) out-scored Vassar (1-3) 27-9 over the final ten minutes to go into the intermission up by a score of 35-17. In that stretch, the Ducks used a 17-0 run in the span of 3:41 to take a 33-15 advantage with 1:49 remaining in the first half. Fuller began the spurt with back-to-back three-pointers. She then added another trifecta with just over three minutes left. Enright also added four points in that period on a pair of made jumpers.
In the second half, the Ducks out-scored the Brewers 29-15. Stevens put the game out of reach with a 13-2 run in a span of 4:40. The streak started on a pair of free throws by Enright with just over 15 minutes remaining. Enright and freshman forward/guard Victoria Webber combined for 11 of the 15 points that were scored in the run. It was capped off by a shot from downtown by Webber, which put the Ducks up 50-21 with 10:43 to go in the game.
Stevens shot 39.4 percent (26-for-66) from the field in the contest, while Vassar was held to a field-goal percentage of 22.8 (13 of 57). Fuller finished the evening with 15 points and two rebounds, while junior guard Dani Dudek registered 10 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Senior guard Jean Matusiak added seven assists, four steals, six points and six rebounds. Senior center/forward Rebecca Baldyga brought down eight boards.
The Brewers were led by sophomore forward Emily Haeuser (South Portland, Maine), who posted a double-double with a game-high 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting. She also added 15 rebounds in the game. Additionally, senior guard Elise Okusami (Olney, Md.) recorded four points and three rebounds.
