HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 18, 2008) – On Saturday afternoon at the De Baun Aquatic Center, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team dominated Montclair State University by a final of 142-112. The Ducks swam the last three events in exhibition and still took first in 10 different races. Stevens moves to 1-0 on the year in dual-meet action as the Red Hawks fall to 0-1.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Nicholas Walulik, Matt Preedy, Matt Smith, and John DiMiceli placed first and turned in a time of 1:41.58.
Rookie John Moorhead was victorious for the Ducks in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.59, and Walulik earned a win in the 100-yard backstroke (55.90). Preedy, a sophomore, was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke after finishing in 1:04.60 as Smith and freshman Sean Iveson took one and three in the 200-yard butterfly.
