NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 17, 2009) – Freshman Terrence Spicer-Williams set a new school-record in the long jump in finishing second in the non-seeded division long jump as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's indoor track and field team competed at the Gotham Invitational on Friday evening in New York, N.Y. The Ducks were competing in their second meet of the second semester and will return to competition next Saturday at the Wesleyan University Invitational in Middletown, Conn.
Spicer-Williams' distance of 6.59 meters was just shy of Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship qualifying.
Senior Trevor Currie finished seventh in the pole vault (non-seeded division), clearing 4.20 meters. He also ran the fastest leg of the 4x400-meter relay (51.9). Sophomore Bradford Antes recorded a personal best in the 5k as did freshman Andrew Verderame. Antes finished in 16:02.46 and Verderame carded a 17:08.95.
