HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 9, 2011) – Despite Ryan Dormann's 10-1 major decision at 174-lbs. that knotted the non-conference dual at 13, the Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team fell to visiting Lycoming College, 28-13, at Walker Gymnasium in Hoboken, N.J. With the loss, the Ducks fall to 11-10-1 on the year, while the Warriors evened their overall record to 11-11 on the season.

Lycoming junior Stephen Hinton (Montclair, Va.) put the Warriors on top with a 4-2 decision over Ducks' freshman 125-pounder Brandon Ling, before Stevens' Mike DiLiello notched a 2-1, come-from-behind victory over sophomore Terrell Nixon (Upper Darby, Pa.). Trailing 1-0 heading into the final period, DiLiello scored an escape point before notching a penalty point to take the bout.

Warriors' senior Michael Maurer (Towanda, Pa.) then upended the Ducks' Cody Curtiss, 5-2, at 141-lbs., before senior Isiah Britton (Williamsport, Pa.) earned a decisive 12-0 major decision over CJ Caserta.

Stevens' senior co-captain Leo Dormann answered by putting an end to the Warriors' hot-streak, scoring a win by medical forfeit, 2:04 into his 157-lb. bout to pull Stevens to within 10-9, but Lycoming sophomore Dave Smith (Ambler, Pa.) got a 7-2 decision over Will Sharkey to push the Warriors' advantage back up to four.

Needing a big win to keep pace, the Ducks got just that, with Ryan Dormann scoring a 10-1 major decision over Tyler Cunningham (Haddon Township, N.J.) at 174. The Stevens' sophomore earned a pair of takedown points in the first period before scoring a reversal in the second to go up 4-0. Keeping the pressure on, Dormann tallied two more takedowns in the final period, before both a penalty and riding time point gave the Mickleton, N.J. native a nine-point major decision.

Lycoming senior Troy Hayre (Falls Church, Va.) responded by pinning sophomore Jason Nowakoski at 184 before junior Russ Korbul (Asbury, N.J.) earned a 10-3 decision over 197-pounder Vincent Termini. Warriors' sophomore Chris Geisel (Gibbsboro, N.J.) closed out the match with a win by fall in the heavyweight class.

Stevens will look to put the brakes on a recent two-match skid on Sunday, February 13 when it welcomes Yeshiva University and Centennial Conference rivals Gettysburg College and Johns Hopkins University for a tri-match at Walker Gymnasium.
