EWING, N.J. (March 21, 2012)Jessica Bourque (Houma, La.) and Lisa Tessitore (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team started the Ducks' mid-week matchup with the College of New Jersey with an 8-5 victory at first doubles. The TCNJ first doubles pair was ranked No. 12 in the ITA Northeast region, making this the second ranked pair in as many weeks that has fallen to Bourque and Tessitore.

The duo also topped the No. 13-ranked St. Lawrence pair on March 13.

After that initial victory on Wednesday, however, the match featured all Lion wins as the hosts took the non-conference tilt by an 8-1 final score.

Bourque also had a good match at singles, tying the match at one set apiece with a 6-1 victory in the second and forcing an epic tiebreak. She and Felice Trinh (Linden, N.J.) battled deep into the evening, with the Lion eventually earning a hard-fought 6-4, 1-6, 11-9 victory.

Each of the other singles matchups were settled in straight sets, though Danielle Stewart (North Plainfield, N.J.) nearly took the opening set at thirds before falling 5-7.

Stevens will play again on March 28, when the Ducks travel to the Bronx to take on New York University beginning at 3:30 p.m.
