Ewing, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team commenced the fall portion of its 2026-27 campaign Saturday in The College of New Jersey Invitational.
Eight players saw the court in singles action and 12 saw the court for doubles competition for the Ducks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In doubles, the
Julia Chiovitti /
Christina Kyrou pairing conceded just a single game across two matches, bageling their first opponents, 6-0, then winning their second and final match of the day, 6-1.
Kaylee Hobbick and
Eva Karmazin also won each of their matches, both by scores of 6-3.
Other pairings who picked up doubles victories included
Kimberly Chen and
Wei-Wei Lai (who won 6-4) &
Lorena Piegas and
Kaylin Chan (who won 6-1); Lai and
Gigi Arenas went to a tiebreaker in their match, but ultimately fell just short.
In singles play,
Jasmine Wen won after taking a tiebreaker,
Abigail Shi won 8-2, Kyrou and Chen both won 8-5, and Hobbick won 8-6; Karmazin won her match when her opponent retired with Karmazin already ahead 6-2.

- Chan, Chen, Karmazin, Shi, and Wen all made their Stevens debuts.
