POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (April 18, 2012) – Sophomore Andrew Riggs (Auburn, Calif.) recently moved up to second singles and won the day's only match for the Stevens Institute of Technology against Vassar College on Wednesday. The California native won 6-4, 6-2 in his victory.

Vassar boasts a good program, with their first doubles pair being ranked No. 1 in the ITA's Northeast Region. Their Duck counterparts, juniors Shota Tasaki (Greenwich, Conn.) and Chris Rosensteel (East Windsor, N.J.) gave them a run before falling 8-5.

Tasaki was able to push his match past two sets, though he fell in the tiebreaker by the narrowest possible 11-9 margin.

The Ducks (7-6) host Utica on Saturday at 2:00 pm in Empire 8 action.
