HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 19, 2013)
 – The sixth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team dropped to a dual-meet to third-ranked Johns Hopkins University Saturday at the De Baun Aquatic Center by a final of 141-118. The Ducks were led by senior John Hu (Oak Harbor, Wash.) who won three events on the day.
 
Prior to the meet, Stevens honored its senior class of Alex Benham (Raleigh, N.C.), Greg Charriez (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.), John Hu, Daniel Munt (Raleigh, N.C.) and Derek Smith (Boise, Idaho). The group was swimming in their last home dual-meet as Ducks.
 
Charriez, Simas Jarasunas, Munt and junior Tyler Hessler (Southbury, Conn.) placed third in the 200-yard medley relay to start the day, combining for a time of 1:35.06, while sophomore Wesley Elford (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Benham placed one-two in the 1,000-yard freestyle with times of 9:41.75 and 9:47.72, respectively.
 
Freshman Tommy Wolinski (Wallington, N.J.) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.70), and freshman Ravi Sun (Arkadelphia, Ark.) took second in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 51.96. Jarasunas and freshman Byron Held (Beaverton, Ore.) were two-three in the 100-yard breaststroke (51.45, 51.96), and Hu's first win of the day came in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.99.
 
Junior Shawn Hanak (North Royalton, Ohio) pocketed a third in the 50-yard freestyle (21.79), and Wolinski did the same in the 100-free with a time of 48.08. Sun tallied another second in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing the race in 1:52.06, while Hu earned win No. 2 of the day in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:11.66. Elford and Benham were two-three in the 500-freestyle with times of 4:41.87 and 4:48.45, with Hu getting his third and final win in the 200-yard individual medley (1:54.98).
 
Junior Joe Huyett (Blandon, Pa.), Wolinski, Hessler and Hanak turned in a 3:11.22 in the 400-yard freestyle relay to close the day, taking second place.
 
The Ducks will visit No. 9 The College of New Jersey on January 27 in Ewing, N.J.
