 – Seventh-ranked The College of New Jersey defeated No. 6 Stevens Institute of Technology, 151-111 in a men's swimming dual-meet Sunday in Ewing, N.J. With the loss, Stevens falls to 2-2 overall. The Lions improved to 8-1.
 
Freshman Ravi Sun (Arkadelphia, Ark.), junior Simas Jarasunas (Vitnius, Lithuania), senior Daniel Munt (Raleigh, N.C.) and junior Tyler Hessler (Southbury, Conn.) placed third in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet, combining for a time of 1:35.42.
 
Sophomore Wesley Elford (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded Stevens' first win of the afternoon with an excellent 9:35.80 in the 1,000-yard freestyle, and senior Alex Benham (Raleigh, N.C.) took second in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a 1:43.95. Freshman Tommy Wolinski (Wallington, N.J.) was third in the 200 with a time of 1:45.26.
 
Sun was second in the 100-yard backstroke (52.20), with Jarasunas and freshman Craig O'Dell (Golden, Colo.) finishing two-three in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.66, 1:00.44). Senior John Hu (Oak Harbor, Wash.) hit the NCAA B-standard in winning the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.85, with sophomore Price Hu (Oak Harbor, Wash.) and his 1:59.40 taking third.
 
Sun tallied a win in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking a 1:54.10, and Jarasunas and O'Dell placed second and third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.97, 2:13.19). Elford earned his second win of the afternoon in the 500-yard freestyle, pocketing a 4:40.46, and Benham took third in the event with a 4:44.27.
 
Munt was third in the 100-yard butterfly (52.36), and Hu nabbed his second event win in the 200-yard individual medley, touching at 1:55.18.
 
Wolinski, junior Nick Noga (Oriskany, N.Y.), Hessler and junior Shawn Hanak (North Royalton, Ohio) placed second in the day's final event – the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group teamed for a 3:09.69.
 
Stevens will return to action on February 2 when it looks for a win in its final dual-meet of the season at Hartwick College.
