NEW YORK, N.Y. (November 6, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team won 5-4 at epee, but dropped the match 17-10 to New York University.

The match was the first dual match of the season for the Ducks as their record drops to 0-1.

Sophomore Michael Szczesniak, senior Marco Egizi, and freshman Ian Fan each won 5-1 at sabre while freshman Jacob Ciesielski and junior Daniel Tracey picked up the Ducks only two wins at foil.

In epee, sophomore Kirk Visser won 5-3 to go along with two wins by junior Logan Koester.

Stevens will return to action Sunday with the seven team Vassar Invitational in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. While there, the Ducks will battle Division I opponents from Lafayette College and the United States Military Academy.
