Women’s Soccer Travels To William Smith For Third Round

HOBOKEN, N.J. (NOVEMBER 18, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team (18-3-1) travels to William Smith College for the third round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament Saturday.

GAME INFO
In the first game, Brandeis University will take on William Smith at 11 a.m, followed by the Ducks taking on Williams College at 1:30 p.m. at Cozzens Field. The two winning teams will meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. with a berth in the Final Four on the line.

WEEKEND UPDATE
The Ducks rolled through the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, surrendering only one goal. In the first round against Lesley University, the Ducks topped the Lynx 5-0. Against Bowdoin College Sunday, Stevens was able knock off the Polar Bears 4-1.

SCOUTING WILLIAMS
The Ephs lost in the NCAA Championship game last fall, falling in penalty kicks to Lynchburg College. This year, Williams is led by juniors Kristi Kirshe who has 12 goals, and Audrey Thomas who's tallied 11. Junior netminder Tressa Palcheck boasts a 17-1-1 mark, and has only allowed seven goals.

RABA THE ASSISTER
With a pair of assists on Saturday, junior Raba Nassif took over the national lead with 19 assists. Nassif's 19 helpers are two behind the single season record set by Elena Ziarnik in 2001.

MOVIN' ON UP
Freshman Zisi Komar tallied two goals and an assist in the victories last weekend, and moved into fifth place on the single season goal list. The top four spots are held by former Duck great and current assistant coach Valerie Barnhart.

THAT'S OFFENSIVE
Stevens was one of two teams to score nine or more goals during the first two rounds this weekend. No. 1 Messiah College was the other, defeating their opponents 6-0 and 3-0.

CHANGE THE ENDING
The Ducks have been to the round of 16 only once before, falling to in-state rival The College of New Jersey 1-0 in 2005.

#WINNING
Stevens is two wins away from tying the single season wins mark, set in 2005 when head coach Jeff Parker led the team to a 20-3 record.
