Interview with David EvansHOBOKEN, N.J. (February 5, 2015) – The second-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team will take part in the 'Clash at Kean' Friday and Saturday in Union, N.J.
The Ducks are coming off wins in their last three matches after opening the season with a pair of losses on the road at DI and No. 10 Hawaii and DI Sacred Heart University. In Stevens' last three matches, they have swept each opponent 3-0 and won each set by an average of more than 11 points.
The Ducks currently crack the top-15 nationally in three team statistical categories. They are sixth in hitting percentage at .298, and eighth in kills per set with 12.18, checking in at No. 12 in assists per set at 11.06.
Individually, senior setter
Kevin Aeckerle is leading the nation in assists per set at 10.31, while senior outside
Ryan Seifert is seventh nationally in kills per set with 4.00. Seifert is 10th in points per set with 4.50 and 29th in hitting percentage (.345).
At Kean, the Ducks will face Lasell on Friday night at 8 p.m. before facing No. 8 Rivier and No. 1 Juniata Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. respectively.
