VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 17, 2015) – After an 11-day layoff, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team will return to action against NESCAC foe Bowdoin College on Wednesday afternoon at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
The Ducks (2-3) will be looking to bounce back after falling to top-ranked Tufts University on March 7 at the DeBaun Athletic Complex, while the Polar Bears (1-3) eye their second-straight win after earning a triumph over Hamilton College in their home opener March 14.
Before falling to Tufts, Stevens had alternated wins and losses in its first four games of the season, rolling to wins over FDU-Florham and Eastern Connecticut, but suffering losses to Endicott and Springfield.
Bowdoin is 1-2 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (1-3 overall) after taking defeats at Williams College and Amherst College back on February 28 and March 7, respectively.
Scouting the Polar Bears:Senior attack David Nemerov, sophomore attack Brandon Lee and freshman attack Shawn Daly have combined for 24 points in the team's first four games this season to pace the Polar Bears with Nemorov recording eight goals and Lee leading the way with four assists. Senior defenseman Mac Caputi leads a Bowdoin defense allowing more than 15 goals-against per game. The veteran has 18 ground balls and a team-high five caused turnovers, while senior midfielder and faceoff specialist Robert Talcott is tied for the team lead in GB's. Talcott has won 43-of-85 faceoffs this season.
Sophomore Paul Mumford and senior Conor Laughlin each have eclipsed 30 saves between the pipes on the young season.
Scouting the Ducks:Stevens has outscored (61-53), outshot (134-119) and won 51.9 percent of its faceoffs this season. Junior
Brett Incollingo keys the Ducks in the 'X', winning 54.5 of his chances, and leading the team with 23 ground balls.
Four players are in double digits when it comes to points in junior attack

Tim Leahey lead the squad in goals with 10 and eight, respectively, while Scrutchfield has seven assists.

Jake Krantz and Scrutchfield are tied for second on the team with 17 ground balls, with Leahey and Maroon each scooping up 11. Krantz has seven caused turnovers on the young season, with senior defenseman
Paul Romens adding six and sophomore defenseman
Chris Contino adding four.
Junior
Austin Boyd has led the Stevens goalies, making 52 stop in 278-plus minutes in goal, carding a save percentage of .544 on 182 shots faced.
After Bowdoin:Stevens will travel back to Hoboken Thursday and have several practices before welcoming Colorado College to the DeBaun Athletic Complex Sunday at 12 p.m.
