HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 22, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology softball team will play its final Empire 8 Conference doubleheader Saturday when it travels to No. 21 Ithaca College.

Catapulted by a six-run fifth inning that was capped by a grand slam from junior
Emily Sellitti, the Ducks took game two of a doubleheader against Stockton University Thursday, 6-3 after a 3-0 loss in game one.
SCOUTING REPORT
At 24-6 (10-0) Ithaca enters the weekend in first place in the E8. Casey Gavin is the Bombers leading hitter with a .405 batting average, while Laura Quicker has been the ace in the circle with 12 wins and 65 strike outs.
WHERE THEY STAND
Stevens enters the weekend in sole possession of fourth place in the E8 with Alfred University (5-5) close behind.
STILL THERE
Senior
Gavriella Risman-Jones continued her reign as E8's top hitter this week as her .468 batting average still leads the conference. Risman-Jones is batting 61 points higher than the second-place challenger.
PROVIDING THE POP
Sophomores
Lauren Shirley and
Olivia Gemma each have five home runs this season, making them one of the top power-hitting duos in the E8. Only Ithaca features two hitters in its lineup that have as many homers.
TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM
Despite not being hit in over a week, junior
Gina Schnecker is still the E8 leader with 12 hit by pitches this spring.
STEADY AT SHORT
Sophomore
Corinne Loncar has committed just two errors in the last 17 games for the Ducks, giving her the second highest fielding percentage amongst Stevens infielders this season.

Brianna Sandone is the Ducks ERA leader at 3.32, while freshman
Marissa Cappello leads the Ducks with 56 strike outs. Freshman
Christine LaRochelle snapped her losing streak with a win Thursday against Stockton, and Gemma has won four of her last five starts.

After Saturday's doubleheader, the Ducks have just two more doubleheaders on the regular season schedule. On April 26 they'll travel to No. 19 Moravian College, before an April 29 matchup at Hunter College.
