Hoboken, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology head softball coach Emily Kaczmarek announced the addition of SJ Mull as an assistant coach on Monday.

Mull joins the Ducks after completing a five-year Division I playing career at Yale University and Fairfield University. She spent four seasons at Yale before playing her final collegiate campaign as a graduate transfer at Fairfield in 2026.

"I couldn't be more excited to join the coaching staff at Stevens," Mull stated. "The university's commitment to its student-athletes was apparent from the first moment I stepped on campus. I'm incredibly grateful to Coach K for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to building strong relationships with the student-athletes, while contributing to the continued success of Stevens softball. I can't wait to get to work! Go Ducks!"

During her lone season with the Stags, Mull started 49 of the team's 51 games. She previously made 107 career starts at Yale, primarily in the outfield, while also seeing time at second base. Mull recorded more than 25 stolen bases during her career and earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors as a utility player in 2025. Selected by her teammates as Yale's sole captain for the 2024-25 season, Mull received the Barbara Chou Leadership Award in 2025 for her leadership and dedication to supporting her teammates. She was also a four-time recipient of the Carol Roberts Legacy Award, which recognizes leadership, commitment and a positive impact within the Yale softball program. Mull was named to the NFCA All-Academic Team in 2022.

In addition to her collegiate playing experience, Mull worked as a private softball coach in Fairfield, Connecticut, providing instruction to more than 15 athletes in hitting, slapping, bunting, fielding, baserunning and game strategy. She also focused on building confidence and strengthening each athlete's overall understanding of the game. Mull spent four years with Yale Athletics Strategic Communications and Broadcasting, gaining experience in athletic communications and ESPN+ productions. She also served as a student-athlete mentor during the 2024-25 academic year, helping first-year student-athletes navigate the academic and athletic demands of college.

Mull earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale in 2025 and completed a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance at Fairfield in 2026.
