Brianna Sandone and sophomore
Olivia Gemma combined for 11 innings of shutout ball Friday in 8-0 and 9-0 wins over Hunter College.
The sweep moved Stevens to 23-17, while Hunter fell to 14-16.
Stevens 8, Hunter 0
After a scoreless first, Stevens broke through with the game's first run in the second off an RBI double from junior
Jessica Rees. Neither team plated a runner over the next two innings, before Stevens broke the game open with five in the fifth.
Senior
Gavriella Risman-Jones and junior
Amanda DiLeo started the rally with back-to-back singles to begin the inning, and later scored off a pair of Hunter errors. Junior
Emily Sellitti capped the rally soon after off a three-run homer.
Stevens added two more in the sixth with an RBI single from sophomore
Corinne Loncar and a passed ball to score DiLeo, giving the Ducks enough runs to shorten the game.
Sandone took control from there, retiring the side in order in the sixth to seal the run-rule shortened victory.
Sellitti went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and a pair of runs, while Risman-Jones, Loncar, and sophomore
Lauren Shirley each tallied multi-hit games.
Sandone struck out two in the circle to move her record to 7-1.
Stevens 9, Hunter 0
Both teams traded zeroes in the first, before Stevens exploded for four in the second. A pair of walks put runners at first and second, where sophomore
Marissa Barnes loaded the bases with a one-out single.
DiLeo drove in one with a single to left in the next at bat, before Risman-Jones cleared the bases with her third triple of the year
The Ducks tacked-on one more in the third with Barnes' one-out double to right, followed by a two-run homer from Gemma in the fourth to make it 7-0.
Gemma held the lead by retiring the side in order in the fourth, before Stevens put the game away for good with two in the fifth off a pair of errors to score Gemma and Shirley.
Risman-Jones and Gemma each drove in three, while Stevens got multi-hit games from Risman-Jones, Loncar, Sellitti, and Barnes.
Gemma struck out four to earn her fifth win of the season.

The Ducks will await their postseason fate with the Empire 8 Conference doubleheaders to be played this weekend.
