Softball Doubleheader Moved To Friday, Sunday Still On As Scheduled

HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 7, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology softball team's doubleheader with Utica College has been moved to Friday, while the Ducks will play their regularly scheduled Sunday doubleheader with Elmira College.

WEEKEND INFO
Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., while Sunday will start at 1 p.m. Each game will take place at Weehawken Waterfront Park. 

RAIN OUT
Stevens' doubleheader with Ramapo College Thursday was re-scheduled to April 13 due to rain.

SCOUTING REPORT
At 10-10 (1-1), Utica is led at the plate by Nicole Rice (.323) and Alysa Russell (.273). Abby Monroe has been a force in the circle with five wins and a 0.91 ERA in 53.2 innings, while Brittany Meka is 3-1 with a 1.70 ERA.

Elmira brings a 4-2 (2-2) record into the weekend, and is led offensively by Maddy Johnson's .417 batting average. Pitching-wise, Marisa Bernardi is the teams ERA leader at. 2.76, while Katie McDougal leads the team with a pair of wins. 

TABLE SETTER
Senior Gavriella Risman-Jones has been a force at the top of the lineup for the Ducks, leading the team and the conference with a .531 batting average. 

3'S COMPANY
In addition to Risman-Jones, sophomores Lauren Shirley, Farryl Groder, and Corinne Loncar each comprise the Ducks four hitters hitting at least. 300 this season.

POWER SUPPLY
Sophomore Olivia Gemma added to her team-leading home run total with a shot Saturday against Houghton. Gemma leads the team with 15 RBIs, and is third in slugging percentage. 

TELLES TAKING ADVANTAGE
Freshman Madison Telles made the most of her opportunities last week, tallying five hits off four doubles including a pair of RBIs. 

CIRCLE REPORT
Freshman Marissa Cappello's lowered her ERA to a team-leading 2.90 after throwing eight innings over the weekend. Cappello leads the Ducks with five wins and 36 strikeouts.
