NEWARK, N.J. (February 19, 2017) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team topped William and Mary 23-4 and Navy 16-11 Sunday afternoon in the MACFA round robin at NJIT.
Stevens fell to Maryland, Haverford and Johns Hopkins to bring the day's tally to 2-3. Overall for the season, Stevens now stands at 16-13.
Sophomore
Gregory Milani led all Stevens fencers with seven wins at epee, in addition to 5-2 and 5-1 days at the weapon for junior
Antonio Fuda and freshman
Ian Blakeslee respectively. As a team at epee, Stevens went 9-0 in the win against William and Mary and 7-2 against Navy, while positing winning records against Maryland and Johns Hopkins.
Sophomore
Justin Yu went 6-3 at foil in addition to a 4-1 day for junior
Michael Ruotolo, while sophomore
Brennan Casey and sophomore
Brennan Wu each won four times at sabre.
Foil posted winning records against William and Mary and Navy, and sabre did the same against William and Mary.
Stevens will return to the strips Tuesday night when it hosts NYU in a men's and women's combined meet.
