ORLANDO, Fla. (March 12, 2017) – The No. 30 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team kicked off its grueling four-match spring break slate Sunday afternoon with an 8-1 loss to No. 15 Amherst.
The loss dropped Stevens to 2-4, while Amherst moved to 1-0. The match was the first of four against top-25 teams nationally taking place in Orlando.

Danny Polk grabbed a point for Stevens with an 8-3 win at second. The victory moved the No. 16 ranked pair's record to 4-2 this spring as they've competed exclusively at the No. 2 spot.
Amherst took control of the match with a win at second singles, before clinching its win with straight-set wins at first and sixth. Feldman grabbed the win in the first set at third, but the remainder of Amherst's wins came in straight sets.
Stevens will continue its spring break trip tomorrow when it battles No. 25 Texas-Tyler.
