  • Short Story: No. 39 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis moved into sole possession of first place in the Empire 8 after victories over Ithaca and Elmira. The Ducks can clinch the E8 regular season championship with a win next weekend or an Ithaca loss.

How It Happened
  • The Ducks earned the first two points of the day, winning at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles, with each pair winning by at least three points.
  • Ithaca earned its only point of the match at No. 1 singles, where Minos Stavrakas and Michael Gardiner edged Kyle Henry and Antonio Perich, 8-6.
  • With first place in the conference on the line, Stevens earned points in all five singles flights to close out the victory. Victories in four of the six flights were more than two points in each set. Tiebreaks were needed in Danny Polk's match at No. 1 singles and Michael Feldman's match at No. 5 singles. 
  • In the second match of the day, the Ducks dropped only three points to Elmira over the three doubles flights, with the team of William Persson and Divin Sarthak spinning an 8-0 shutout.
  • In the singles flights, Danny Polk and Kyle Henry each posted 6-0, 6-0 victories.
  • David Schulz, Divin Sarthak and Antonio Perich each won one set via shutout en route to easy victories.
  • In the closest singles flight, senior Charles Drake defeated Patrick Tracey, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
