Fall season begins for men’s tennis with wins at TCNJ Lions Kickoff

  • Short Story: The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team opened its abbreviated fall season with an 8-4 mark at The College of New Jersey Lions Kickoff Tournament.
    
How It Happened
  • Competing against the doubles teams from TCNJ, New York University and Dickinson College, the Ducks played 12 matches over three rounds.
  • In the opening round, the Ducks claimed four victories over Dickinson.
  • In the second round, the Ducks dropped three of the four flights with TCNJ.
  • In the final round, Stevens earned victories in three of the four flights with NYU.
  • The senior pairing of Danny Polk and William Persson went a perfect 3-0.
  • The freshman tandem of Keegan Morris and Mark Kanevsky went 2-1 as did the team of senior David Schulz and freshman Gabriel Sifuentes. Each team defeated an opponent from Dickinson and NYU, but dropped a second-round flight to TCNJ.
  • The duo of senior Kyle Henry and freshman Bryan Szayna went 1-2, defeating Dickinson's Samuel Loring and Shawn Diniz in the opening round.
