Equestrian Ties for Fourth at USMA Show

The Basics

The lead: Freshman Katie Sorber and senior Sarah Mohammedi placed third in novice flat and open fences, respectively, to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team to a fourth-place tie Saturday at the United States Military Academy Show.
Location: Centenary University Equestrian Center - Long Valley, New York
Short Story: Sorber and Mohammedi were the top finishers for equestrian, placing third in their respective disciplines. Centenary University won the team event with 44 points to finish first among the eight competing schools. Marist College finished second with 27 points and hosting Army finished third with 22. New Paltz matched Stevens with 16 points.
Of Note: The fourth-place tie was the highest team finish of the season for Equestrian. The team also took part in the annual Halloween Costume Contest, riding as zombies from Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

Top Finishers

In addition to her third-place finish in open fences, Mohammedi earned fourth in the open flat event. Sorber took sixth in novice fences to round out her competition.
Senior Nadia Hoellrigl took sixth in novice flat, while classmate Anthony D'Aiuto earned fourth in walk-trot to post his best finish in the event of the fall season.
Freshman Natasha Collett placed sixth in Walk-Trot Canter, while sophomore Madeline Hutchinson placed fifth in Walk-Trot to round out Stevens' competition.
