  • Short Story: Senior William Persson and freshman Mark Kanevsky each earned singles victories by No. 37 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis fell at Division I's Lehigh University Saturday afternoon.
  • Of note: Division I rules were used, with the results of the three doubles matches combining for one collective point.
  • The records: Lehigh: 3-1; Stevens: 0-1
    
How It Happened
  • Lehigh collected the point coming out of doubles play, with victories for the Mountain Hawks coming in all three flights.
  • Jack Peterson and Bryant Born scored the first victory of the afternoon with a 6-2 win over Kyle Henry and David Schulz at second doubles.
  • Persson and classmate Danny Polk dropped a hard-fought 6-4 decision to Jack Martin and Jacob Edelchik at No. 1 to secure the point for Lehigh.
  • Henry dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision at fourth singles to open the individual matches.
  • Polk fell (4,3) to Peterson in top singles spot, before Persson put Stevens on the board with a straight-set victory at the No. 3 position.
  • After winning the opening set, freshman Keegan Morris fell in three sets to Edelchik, who is undefeated as a singles competitor. The win clinched the match for Lehigh.
  • George Cooper closed earned Lehigh's final victory of the day with an exciting three-set victory at No. 5 singles, before Kanevsky earned Stevens' final win of the day over Sam Bencheghib in straight sets at the sixth position.
