Men's Swimming Topped by Nationally Ranked Opponents in Quad Meet

  • The Lead: Senior Matthew Shaw recorded a second-place finish while classmates Vincent Tavoletti and Sam Fuller each registered third-place finishes as the No. 20 Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team fell to No. 24 Swarthmore College, No. 13 Rowan University and No. 4 Johns Hopkins University in Saturday's quad meet at the Berkeley Aquatic Club. 

Top Finishers
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Fuller, Tavoletti and juniors Tyler Zanki and Jonas Lackey finished fifth with a time of 1:37.14. 
  • Junior Daniel Rosenberger touched the wall at 16:57.20 in the 1650-yard freestyle for a seventh-place finish. 
  • Sophomore Theodore Jagodits finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle, coming in at 1:46.15.
  • Fuller registered his third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with his time of 54.02.
  • In the same event, sophomore Blake Holland finished sixth followed by freshman Daniel Hold in ninth. 
  • In the 100-yard breaststroke, Zanki finished seventh followed by freshman Matthew Kwan in ninth and senior Chris Ludeke in 10th. 
  • Tavoletti touched the wall at 2:00.34 in the 200-yard butterfly for a sixth-place finish, followed closely by sophomore Kurt von Autenried in seventh with his time of 2:00.63.
  • Shaw's second-place finish occured in the 50-yard freestyle, where he recorded a time of 21.57. 
  • In the same event, junior Trevor Hinds finished sixth followed by sophomore Ryan Ludemann in eighth and Lackey in ninth. 
  • Jagodits finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle, followed by von Autenried in eighth. 
  • In the 200-yard backstroke, Holland and Fuller tied for fourth with their times of 1:58.23.
  • Zanki finished fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:11.89. Kwan came in right behind his teammate for a sixth-place finish at 2:13.40.
  • Rosenberger recorded a time of 4:54.82 in the 500-yard freestyle for a ninth-place finish.
  • In the 100-yard butterfly, Tavoletti touched the wall at 52.06 for third-place points. 
  • In the same event, von Autenried finished seventh followed by Jagodits in eighth and senior Stephen Barlow in ninth. 
  • Ludeke registered a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard IM, followed by Kwan in seventh. 
  • In the final event of the meet, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Holland, Lackey, Shaw and Jagodits recorded a fifth-place finish.
