ROCHESTER, N.Y. (January 29, 2019)  – Junior
David Lehman of the second-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team earned Player of the Week recognition from the United Volleyball Conference, the league office announced Tuesday.
It's the first career UVC Player of the Week accolade for the Oakland, California native, who earned a pair of Rookie of the Week awards two seasons ago.
"Dave was our go-to hitter for opening weekend," said assistant coach
Austin Voges. "Not only was he able to rack up the kills, but he was extremely efficient in every match."
Lehman totaled 37 kills on 70 attacks with just nine errors (.400 hitting percentage) as Stevens opened the season 3-0 with wins over Rivier, North Central and Endicott at The Clash at Kean. Lehman was especially strong against Endicott, collecting nine kills on 18 attacks with just one error (.444 hitting percentage). The Oakland, California native also posted seven blocks and 15 digs.
Up Next: No. 2 Men's Volleyball returns to Union, New Jersey Friday night for a non-conference match against No. 4 Kean.
