HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 14, 2021)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team announced its 2022 competition schedule Thursday. The calendar features 30 matches, including 13 in the friendly confines of Canavan Arena, where the Ducks are 108-22 since 2010. The schedule also features nine tri-matches, including four on campus.

"We are looking forward to competing through a challenging conference and non-conference schedule which we believe will provide us the opportunities we need to be at our best in April," said second-year head coach Dan Buehring. "Earning wins against some of these opponents will require a strong will to prepare months in advance as I feel our opponents will contend for their respective conference championships and make solid bids for the NCAA tournament. The schedule ahead will be very exciting, and we look forward to getting better every time we take the floor this season."

Stevens opens the 2022 campaign with five straight matches inside Canavan Arena, marking the first time since 2013 that Stevens has opened on campus. Lasell University and St. Joseph's College of Long Island come to campus on Jan. 15 for a season-opening tri-match, before the Ducks welcome the defending national champion, Carthage College to Hoboken on Jan. 22 for the first meeting between the perennial powers since 2017. Carthage will serve as host of the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Final Four and Championship matches.

The Ducks will host their second tri-match of the season on Jan. 29, when nearby New Jersey City University and former United Volleyball Conference foe and 2019 national champion, New Paltz come to campus. Stevens is 24-12 all-time against New Paltz and a perfect 18-0 against the Gothic Knights.

Conference play opens on Feb. 2, when the Ducks head to Keystone State for the first of two meetings with Misericordia. Stevens will play a total of 13 league matches as the program seeks its first Middle Atlantic Conference championship. The league schedule is comprised with a home-and-home series with Stevens' traditional MAC Freedom opponents and one match with programs traditionally on the MAC Commonwealth side.

The first of two trips to Massachusetts occurs on Feb. 5, when the Ducks head to Cambridge for a tri-match with MIT and Rivier. The Ducks are 12-2 all-time against the hosting Engineers and 14-3 all-time against the Raiders, although Stevens has never competed with Rivier on the Raiders' campus in New Hampshire. Stevens returns to New England one week later for matches with multi-time national champion Springfield College and a second matchup with Rivier, with both matches contested on Springfield's campus. A road contest at CUNYAC champion Hunter College is sandwiched between the trips to the Bay State on Feb. 9.

Vassar College will host Stevens and Ramapo College for a tri-match on Feb. 19, before the Ducks head to Brooklyn for a matchup with local rival, NYU on Feb. 23. A short trip to Union, New Jersey follows one day later, where the Ducks will meet Kean University, before heading into the meat of the conference schedule, which begins with a home contest against King's College on Feb. 6.

A road matchup at Wilkes on Mar. 2 follows, before Stevens hosts Arcadia and the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Mar. 5. The contest with MSOE is believed to be just the fourth meeting between the programs and just the second since 2007. Eastern and NYU then come to campus for a unique Friday night doubleheader on Mar. 11 before the Ducks play four straight matches away from campus at King's (Mar. 16), Stevenson and Widener (Mar. 19) and Misericordia (Mar. 23).

The Ducks return home for the final time in the regular season for a tri-match with Alvernia and Wilkes on Mar. 26, before wrapping up the regular season with a tri-match at Arcadia on Apr. 2 against the hosting Knights and defending conference champions, Messiah.

The MAC playoffs begin on Apr. 4, with the semifinals taking place two days later. The league will crown a champion on Apr. 9 with the NCAA Tournament beginning later that week.
