Men’s Basketball’s Coffey Tabbed MAC Freedom Player of the Week

Junior guard averaged 15.5 points and seven assists over two Stevens victories

ANNVILLE, Pa. (December 6, 2021)  – Junior Conor Coffey of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team was named MAC Freedom Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. 

It's the first career Player of the Week award for the Monroe, New York native and the second for Stevens men's basketball this season. 

"Conor not only had a great week, but he's had a great start to the season!" said head coach Bobby Hurley. "He has taken a big jump and he continues to improve every day."

Coffey averaged 15.5 points and seven assists in a pair of conference victories over Arcadia and Lycoming. Against the Knights, the Monroe, New York native had 14 points and a career-high eight assists and against the Warriors, Coffey had 17 points and six assists. All totaled, the third-year guard had 31 points, 14 assists, six rebounds and three steals. Coffey is ranked 18th in the conference in scoring and eighth in assists, while also ranking second in assist-to-turnover ratio.
