COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 18, 2023) – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its Spring 2023 academic awards and the Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's swimming teams were each recognized for their performance in the classroom.
The women's squad led the way, tying for 10th in Division III after posting a 3.74 grade-point average (seventh-highest mark) in the spring semester. The men's squad also posted a strong GPA of 3.49 in the spring to join the women in earning the award.
The award, given bi-annually, is earned by teams who have accumulated at least a 3.0 GPA for the semester. The dual recognitions bring the program's all-time combined total to 28 since the award's inception in the 2006-07 school year.
Stevens is one of 718 teams, representing 17,497 student-athletes across all three NCAA divisions, to win the award.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
