Men's Fencing Topped By Columbia, Johns Hopkins

New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team was knocked off by Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University at the Columbia Invitational on Friday.

The Ducks were knocked off by Columbia 17-10 and Johns Hopkins 18-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sabre went 5-4 in the setback to Columbia, as epee was 3-6 and foil 2-7. Colin Mahoney and John Morreale had two wins at sabre, with Cyrus Erachshaw adding one. Andrew Yurovchak (epee) and Dev Badlani (foil) had two wins against Columbia, as Nicholas Smith added one at epee.

Against the Johns Hopkins, Badlani and David Trubetski went 2-1 as Nick Reznick added a victory at foil. Morreale had a pair of victories at sabre as Noah Tumibay and Riley Parker tallied a win each at epee.

After hosting an alumni meet in early December, the Ducks return to competition on February 2 as they visit Boston University for the Eric Sollee Invitational.
