NEWTOWN, Pa. (March 18, 2024) – Sophomore Matthew Pergola and graduate student Kevin Holtby from the No. 15/15 Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse have been named MAC Freedom Players of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
It is the second weekly award of the season for both athletes. Pergola earned his fourth career MAC Freedom weekly award.
Pergola scored six goals across two games as nationally-ranked Stevens defeated Haverford and Rhodes to win the inaugural Leanos Cup. He had four goals against the Fords and two against the Lynx, while also picking up two ground balls.
Holtby totaled 31 saves across two games to help nationally-ranked Stevens defeat Haverford and Rhodes on the program's way to capturing the inaugural Leanos Cup. Against Haverford, Holtby stopped a season-high 19 shots and then made 12 saves against Rhodes. He also picked up three ground balls.
