Center Valley, Pa. - The Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross-country team turned in another strong performance, placing third at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday.
The Ducks tied host DeSales with 55 points but DeSales had the higher finisher, as the Penn State Club XC won the race with 34 points. Those were the only three teams under 100 points, as Penn State-Harrisburg was fourth with 131 points and Division II Holy Family fifth. All five scorers for the Ducks finished inside the top 22, while all eight competitors crossed the line under 31 minutes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Kaitlyn Adams led the Ducks with a third-place finish in 23:20.20, marking her second straight top-three performance.
Isabella Gabay followed closely in fifth with a time of 23:35.60, giving Stevens a powerful one-two punch near the front of the pack.
Madeline Bender was the next Duck to finish, placing 10th in 25:11.10.
Catherine Bondi (20th, 26:05.60) and
Kate Cen (22nd, 26:11.80) rounded out the scoring five, both finishing inside the top 25 to lock in the team's third-place showing.
Anya Sadowski was sixth for Stevens, placing 26th in 26:37.40, while
Emily Laudman finished 34th in 26:57.60.
Annika Villanueva completed the lineup in 61st with a time of 30:46.50.

UP NEXT
Stevens returns to action next Saturday, competing in two races at the Rowan Border Battle. The Championship race begins at 11 am with the Open Race at 12:30 pm.
