New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team fell to Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University at the Columbia Invitational on Sunday.
The Ducks were clipped 15-12 by the host Lions before falling 19-8 to Johns Hopkins.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Foil led the way with a 6-3 record against Columbia, while sabre and epee each added three wins.
Nick Reznick,
Dev Badlani, and
Dillon Miller each went 2-1 at foil, with Riulin Liu,
Chinli Ong, and
Spencer Depew collecting one victory apiece at sabre.
Andrew Yurovchak tallied two victories at epee, while
Skanda Krishnan added one in the setback to Columbia.
Against Johns Hopkins, the epee unit posted a 5-4 edge, paced by two wins from
Yuval Fussman.
Riley Parker,
Donovan Aggeler, and Krishnan accounted for the remaining epee victories. Reznick went 2-1 at foil in the bout against the Blue Jays, and Badlani rounded out the Ducks' wins, going 1-2.
