Men's Lacrosse Ranked in USILA Coaches Poll

Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team was ranked No. 13 in the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Top-20 Coaches Poll on Monday.

The Ducks also garnered national recognition in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll (No. 10) and the Inside Lacrosse Poll (No. 12).

The Ducks face a tough schedule this season, with No. 10 Dickinson College looming as their first opponent this Saturday and host Union College on March 15. Union is ranked No. 17 in the USILA Poll while also gaining recognition in the other two coaches polls. Wesleyan, ranked No. 7, comes to town on March 19 as defending National Champion Tufts make the annual trip to Hoboken on March 22, with the Jumbos entering the USILA Poll at No. 1 and earning 20 first-place votes.

Stevens went 18-3 last and went a perfect 7-0 in the MAC Freedom. They downed Misericordia 17-4 in the MAC Freedom Semifinals before taking home the championship with a 15-7 triumph over DeSales. They clipped Roanoke 10-9 in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Christopher Newport 12-5 in the Second Round.

The Ducks return their top-two goal scorers, Matthew Pergola and Joseph Grippo, as well as their top-two caused turnover leaders, Luke Lesizza and Bryan Creamer. Additionally, Jackson Penn and Will Giarrusso each registered over 120 face-off wins in the "X" for Stevens.
