Shawnee, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team finished second at the Conquer the Island Tournament on Tuesday.
Competing in windy conditions, the Ducks posted a team score of 310 (+22), finishing behind Drew University, which shot a +11. The Drew "B" team tied for third with the University of Scranton at +25.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Ben Slicker led the Ducks with a +4 (76), tying for fifth overall. He shot +1 on the front nine, opening the round with four consecutive pars and carding a birdie on the par-5 sixth. On the back nine, he added six more pars and recorded par or better on 13 of the 18 holes.
Brock Dickson tied for seventh with a +5 (77). He played the front nine at +2, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 sixth. Between holes three and 13, Dickson played even par, collecting eight pars during that stretch.
Sebastian Beaver followed closely with a +6 (78), carding +3 on both the front and back nine.
Arav Tank registered a +7 (79), tying for 16th place. He birdied the par-3 eighth and played the back nine at +3.
Alex Carey (+14) and
Maxime Debets (+15) also competed for Stevens. Carey opened his round with a birdie, while Debets recorded six pars on the day.

The Ducks return to Pennsylvania this weekend to compete in the Gettysburg Spring Shootout, set for Friday and Saturday.
