Somers, Finch, Doyle, Schilleci, Fishbough Selected All-Region by D3Baseball and ABCA/Rawlings

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN./GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Eli Somers, sophomore David Finch, senior Justin Doyle, senior Victor Schilleci, and junior Dylan Fishbough of the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team were all named All-Region by d3baseball.com and/or the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings, as announced by both organizations on Tuesday.

Somers was named to the d3baseball First Team and the ABCA/Rawlings Second Team; Finch earned d3baseball Third Team and ABCA/Rawlings Second Team selection; Doyle was named to the d3baseball Third Team; Schilleci and Fishbough were each named to the ABCA/Rawlings Third Team.

Somers followed up his 2024 ABCA Third Team All-Region selection with arguably a stronger 2025 campaign. Somers hit .377 with eight home runs, 41 RBIs, a .635 slugging percentage, an OPS of 1.106, 63 hits (including 13 doubles), and 106 total bases – every single one of those marks aside from batting average were a Top 10 single-season mark in program history. Somers also entered the program's career Top 10 lists in home runs, extra-base hits, total bases, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage.

An All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention in 2024, Finch became the conference's Pitcher of the Year this season, notching five saves, four coming in conference play, striking out 28 batters in 19.2 innings during the regular season, while allowing 14 hits, with just one of those going for extra bases. During a stretch of 10 appearances from early March to early April, Finch went 13 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out 20 while yielding just eight hits. Finch's year ended with a career-high six strikeouts against Arcadia in the MAC Freedom Championship Series, allowing just one run and three hits in 3.1 innings of work.

Doyle earns his first All-Region honor after a year in which he ranked in the top three in ERA, wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, and batting average against among all MAC Freedom hurlers during the regular season, leading the conference in ERA, wins, and strikeouts in conference play. In each of his first five MAC Freedom starts, he tossed least six innings, allowed three earned runs or fewer, and struck out at least five, finishing his collegiate career with 174 strikeouts and a batting average against of just .216.

Schilleci, like Somers, etched his name in the program record book repeatedly over the course of the season. The Mandeville, La. native finished the year hitting .302 with 24 extra-base hits, 39 RBI, 96 total bases, and 41 walks. With just two home runs for his career entering the year, Schilleci exploded for a single-season program-record 12, three of those coming in the MAC Freedom Tournament. Schilleci also cracked the single-season Top 10 in runs, extra-base hits, RBIs, OPS, and walks (where he now holds both the No. 1 and No. 2 marks all-time).

Not an everyday member of the starting lineup until nearly a month into the season, Fishbough made up for lost time with a monster year. Holding an average as high as .444 late in the regular season, Fishbough ended the season at a team-best .398 clip, along with 28 runs, 26 RBIs, an OPS over 1.000, and 14 stolen bases. From March 19 through the regular season finale April 29, Fishbough hit .436 (44-for-101) in 28 games with 16 extra-base hits, 19 RBI's, and 23 runs.. He hit safely in 16 straight games, including a 6-for-6, five-run, six-RBI game against New Jersey City when he broke the school record for hits in a game.
