GREENSBORO, N.C. – Victor Schilleci of the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team was recently named to the NCAA Division III Region 4 All-Defensive Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
Comprising all 10 regions nationwide, the teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Schilleci adds the All-Defensive honor to a postseason awards haul that already included Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Honorable Mention and ABCA/Rawling Third Team All-Region recognition.
After committing an error on his second chance of the season, Schilleci was nearly flawless the rest of the year, committing just one error over his final 384 chances, including streaks of 37 games and 347 chances without an error, ending the season with a .995 fielding percentage.
