Emma Eguia were named Academic All-MAC by the Middle Atlantic Conference office Friday, following highly successful seasons for all, on and off the court.
The Academic All-MAC quartet were previously all-named All-MAC Freedom First Team.
Untermeyer won all four of her conference singles and doubles matches during the regular season, then earned two more singles wins in the MAC Freedom Semifinal and Championship, respectively, and capped her year with a doubles win and a straight-set singles win over Scranton in the NCAA Tournament.
Aytekin's first year in Hoboken was sensational, finishing the Spring a perfect 7-0 in singles and 6-1 in doubles. All three of her regular season conference matches plus both of her postseason conference matches ended in straight sets, then she added another straight-set win over Scranton in the NCAA Tournament.
MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year in 2023-24, Dry made it back-to-back major conference awards this season, taking home Player of the Year after a 10-4 Spring season in singles action, all matches coming at No. 1. Five of those 10 wins came in MAC Freedom play, all wins coming via straight sets.
Eguia earned her third career All-Conference honor after a MAC Freedom regular season slate in which she won all six of her singles matches and four of her five doubles matches, then added a straight set singles win in the MAC Freedom Championship.
The Academic All-MAC teams are based off semester grade-point averages (GPA) for the semester of their championship season. The minimum GPA required is a 3.20, and the student-athlete must remain an eligible member of the team through the conclusion of the season. Voting for this award is based on 50% academic excellence and 50% athletic prowess.
