Women's Tennis Sees 7 Named as ITA Scholar Athletes

Hoboken, N.J. (July 23, 2025) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced that seven student-athletes from the Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team have earned Scholar-Athlete honors.

Alix Dry, Aliona Heitz, Stephanie Untermeyer, Sude Ayetekin, Emma Eguia, Julia Chiovitti, and Lorena Piegas were recognized by the ITA thanks to their impressive performances in the classroom. Additionally, the Ducks again earned All-Academic Team honors after finishing the 2024-25 academic year with a 3.595 cumulative grade-point average.

A student-athlete qualifies as an ITA Scholar-Athlete by being a varsity letter-winner, having a GPA of at least a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and having been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including first through senior years). For the team to qualify as for the All-Academic Team accolade, the program must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter-winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. In 2025, 1,1,269 Division III female student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 165 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
