Maddison Representing Great Britain at FIBA U20 Eurobasket

Hoboken, N.J. – Rising junior Kyle Maddison of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team is representing Great Britain at the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket.

The tournament, which is being held in Armenia, places Great Britain in Group A alongside Croatia, Portugal, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. Through three games, Great Britain sits in second place with a 1-2 record.

"This is really exciting for Kyle, his family, and our basketball program," said Head Coach Bobby Hurley. "I'm so proud of his hard work in earning a spot on the U20 Great Britain team. It's a unique experience that will benefit him greatly."

In the opening game on July 11, Great Britain defeated Bulgaria 75-61, with Maddison contributing 12 minutes of action. Despite an 80-63 loss to Croatia, the rising junior tallied 10 points (one shy of the team high), while also adding three assists and three rebounds off the bench. He chipped in four points in 18 minutes in Sunday's 61-48 setback to Slovakia. The final group stage contest is set for Tuesday against Portugal.

"It has been a great opportunity so far," Maddison said. "When you step on the court, the feeling is a bit different. Wearing your country's name on your chest brings a deep sense of pride as you play."

Maddison, who was recently named to the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference Team, had seven 20+ point games last season, part of a season average of 15.2 points per game — the highest on the MAC Freedom regular-season champion Ducks. He scored in double figures in 22 games, made at least three 3-pointers in 15 games, and knocked down four or more triples in 10 contests. In addition to his academic honor, Maddison also earned his first All-MET and All-Conference selections as a Duck.
