Doylestown, Pa. – Led by a third-place finish from
Kaitlyn Adams, the Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross country team raced to a second-place team finish at the Aggie Invitational Saturday morning.
The Ducks totaled 93 points to secure runner-up honors, finishing behind Messiah (37), while edging York (Pa.) by a single point (94). Misericordia placed fourth with 111 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Adams continued her impressive start to the season, placing third overall with a time of 24:16.9 over the 6,000-meter course, including a closing 4K split of 11:12.3. Teammate
Isabella Gabay wasn't far behind, crossing seventh in 24:47.7 after matching Adams' opening two-mile pace.
Madeline Bender (25:53.6) and
Kate Cen (26:31.7) provided valuable depth with top-30 finishes, while
Catherine Bondi (27:14.2) and
Taylor Enes (27:35.2) added top-50 performances. Rounding out the lineup,
Anya Sadowski (29:16.6) and
Annika Villanueva (29:55.8) delivered steady efforts to help the Ducks hold off York for second place.
