Haverford, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team battled Haverford College to close out the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational on Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tristan Wroe was the lone the Ducks, registering a 6-2, 7-5 victory against his Fords opponent.
Ian Batra and
Dhaivik Chenemilla both went three sets but were upended in singles play. Batra won the first set 6-0 before falling 7-6 (4), 10-8. Chenemilla also won the first frame, picking up a 6-4 triumph before losing the final two 6-2, 10-5.
Johnny Haase and
Elias Alkio were topped by identical 6-2, 7-5 margins, while
Renat Kramin was knocked off 6-2, 6-1.
Three of the four doubles matches were decided by three games or fewer.
Max-William Kanz and Kramin were bested 8-6, as the duo of
Samvid Andhare and Chenemilla along with Batra and Wroe fell by the same 8-5 scorelines. Alkio and Haase were tripped up 8-3 in the final doubles match of the day.
