Haverford, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team earned three doubles victories and added a singles win during competition against Haverford College on Saturday at the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens opened the day with a strong showing in doubles play, winning three of its four matches. Renat Kramin and Tristan Wroe earned a 6-3 victory, while Christopher Cho and Pratik Nayak battled their way to a 7-5 decision. Johnny Haase and Elias Alkio rounded out the Ducks' doubles victories with a 6-3 win. Samvid Andhare and Jamie Ortiz dropped their match by a 6-2 margin.
 
Cho carried the momentum into singles competition, earning Stevens' victory with a 7-5, 6-4 decision. After taking a competitive opening set, Cho closed out the match in straight sets. Nayak also started strongly in singles action, taking the opening set 6-4. His opponent responded with a 6-3 victory in the second before claiming the deciding tiebreaker 10-4.
 
Kramin battled through a close opening set before falling 7-5, 6-1, while Alkio pushed his opening set to a tiebreaker before dropping a 7-6 (3), 6-3 decision. Andhare fell 6-3, 6-1, while Wroe was defeated 6-1, 6-3. Haase's singles match was unfinished with the score at 5-3.
