HOBOKEN, N.J. – Senior forward Josh Ottinger (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored three goals to lead Stevens Institute of Technology to a 7-0 win over SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday in a Skyline Conference game at DeBaun Field.

Stevens, ranked 14th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III poll, won its fourth straight game, improving to 10-1-1 overall and 4-0 in Skyline Conference play.  Old Westbury falls to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Ottinger, who recorded his second hat trick in a span of four days, has scored seven goals in the last three games.  He scored three goals in a 7-0 win over St. Joseph’s-Patchogue on Wednesday and added a goal and an assist in a 10-0 win over Maritime on Friday.

Ottinger had a hand in all three goals as Stevens took a 3-0 lead in the first half.  He scored off a volley from 15 yards at the 7:29 mark.  At the 42:30 mark, he scored on a shot to the upper left corner from 12 yards off a pass from sophomore Nick Gkionis (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial).  Just 22 seconds later, Ottinger was taken down in the Old Westbury penalty area and freshman Sean Bliss (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) converted the ensuing penalty kick.

Ottinger completed the hat trick in the 54th minute, scoring on a shot from the left side of the box.

Sophomore Chris McGreevy (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams) added a goal in the 67th minute and freshman Mike Kaiser (Roy, Utah/Roy) scored twice in a span of 3:40 to close out the scoring.

Stevens held a 33-2 advantage in shots.  Sophomore Chris Celentano (Newton, N.J./Newton) and freshmen Corey Connelly (Louisville, Ky./du Pont) combined on the shutout in goal for the Ducks.  Brandon DeNoyer and Sergio Marin combined for 11 saves for Old Westbury.

Stevens takes a break from Skyline Conference play next week when it hosts FDU-Florham on Wednesday, October 6, before traveling to Richard Stockton on Saturday, October 9.
