"Our entire squad stepped up this year throughout the season to pull out key wins and help us finish at the top of our conference standings," head coach
Steve Gachko. "Without a doubt, the area I'm most proud of from each and every one of our guys is how they compete with class all season."
As a team, the Ducks posted a perfect 11-0 record with 10 sweeps on the season and won the MAC Freedom Regular Season and Tournament titles.
It is the second Player of the Year award Feliu has garnered in his illustrious career after he earned Empire 8 Player and Rookie of the Year honors in 2019. This season, Feliu has won 240 of the 252 total games he has played in singles competition with six of his nine wins coming at line one.
"Marc has continued to impress at the top singles and doubles spot for the majority of this season," Gachko said. "Marc not only dominated all season on the court, he did it with the upmost class and sportsmanship we strive for each day in our program. He is looking to finish on a high note leading our team into postseason play."
Kulakarni, meanwhile, was also 9-0 this season in singles play as he did not drop a singles set all season while playing the majority of his matches at line three. He posted a 108-13 overall record including three perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins this season.
"Aashi quickly cemented himself at the top part of our lineup during his first-year campaign," Gachko said. "His calm, confident on-court demeanor is impressive for someone competing in their first years of collegiate competition. I'm excited to see him continue to develop during his time here."
In addition to their dominant singles play, Feliu and Kulakarni have been just as impressive a flight one doubles, posting an 11-0 record. The duo has posted an 88-11 overall record in doubles games this season with five sweeps while not allowing any opponent to tally more than three points in the contest.
Joining Feliu and Kulakarni on the first team was Morris who was also unbeaten in singles competition this season, posting a 7-0 record with three wins coming at line one this season. Morris has won 14 of the 15 singles sets he played in this season and has also teamed up with Sifuentes for a perfect 9-0 record in doubles play.
Another first-year player for the Ducks, Borowczak earned Second Team All-Conference honors after going 8-0 in singles play this season and winning 16 of the 17 sets he competed in. On the year, Borowczak posted a pair of perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins while playing the majority of his matches at line five.
Also on the second team was Sifuentes, Stevens' line four student-athlete for the majority of the year. Sifuentes did not drop a set all season to post a 7-0 record on the year with four perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweeps, the last of which clinched the MAC Freedom Tournament title for the Ducks over DeSales.
Rounding out the all-conference selections for the Ducks was Li who picked up honorable mention accolades thanks to an 9-0 record in singles play at line six all season. Li won 48 of the 49 sets he competed in this year and posted three 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in his nine victories.
"It's one thing to go undefeated all year, it's another thing to uphold the highest level of sportsmanship no matter the circumstances," Gachko said. "This is such a special group and I'm privileged to coach them each day."
