Men's Swimming Selected Second in MAC Pre-Championship Poll

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team received nearly half the first-place votes, sliding into second place in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Pre-Championship poll, the league office announced Monday.

In the annual vote conducted among the league's 11 head coaches, the six-time defending champion Ducks received five of 11 first-place votes for a total of 91 points. Despite finishing a distant third at last year's championship meet, York nipped Stevens for the top spot in the poll, receiving five of the remaining six first-place votes, totaling 95 points. Misericordia (72 points), Arcadia (71 points), and Widener (69) were a tightly-bunched 3-4-5; Widener finished second in last year's championship meet; Misericordia finished fourth and Arcadia finished fifth.

The Ducks have won five of their six conference crowns by at least 150 points, winning four by at least 325 points, continuing a tradition of MAC swimming dynasties – only Stevens, Albright, and Widener have won conference titles since 1996. Dating back to the program's tenure in the Empire 8 Conference, the Ducks have claimed 13 consecutive conference titles.

Last season, the Ducks racked up four victories, 11 second-place finishes, and a pair of third-place finishes during the four-day event. The Ducks led after each of the first three days (68 points, 32 points, 114 points), finishing 164.5 points clear of Widener when all was said and done.

The 2026 MAC Swimming Championships will take place at the Graham Aquatic Center Feb. 12-15 and will be hosted by York.
